Terms of service

These terms cover the services Cardboard Rocket provides. A signed proposal or written quote for a specific project takes precedence over anything here that conflicts with it.

Quotes and scope

Prices shown on this website are starting points, not fixed quotes. Before any work begins you receive a written quote setting out what will be built, what it costs, and when it will be delivered. That quote is valid for 30 days. Work outside the agreed scope is quoted separately and agreed in writing before I start it.

Payment

Projects are invoiced 50% on acceptance of the quote and 50% on completion, unless the quote says otherwise. Support plans are invoiced monthly in advance. Invoices are due within 14 days. Late payment may incur statutory interest and recovery costs under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

Your responsibilities

Projects depend on getting content, feedback and access from you in reasonable time. If a project stalls on your side for more than 60 days, I may invoice for work completed to that point and re-quote the remainder.

Ownership and intellectual property

On full payment, you own the custom code, designs and content produced for your project outright. Third-party components keep their own licences, and I retain the right to reuse general techniques, tools and non-client-specific code. I may reference the work in my portfolio unless you ask me in writing not to.

Support plans

Support plans run monthly with no minimum term, and either of us may cancel with 30 days’ notice. Cancellation does not refund the current month. Work beyond the plan’s monthly allowance is quoted separately.

Liability

I take reasonable care, but no website or piece of software is guaranteed to be uninterrupted or error-free. My total liability for any project is limited to the fees you have paid for it. I am not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits or lost data. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
