Most small business websites do not fail because of how they look. They fail because the page takes five seconds to appear on a phone, the business does not show up when somebody searches for it by name, and the phone number is buried three taps down. Fixing that is unglamorous work, and it is the work that brings the enquiries.
I build sites that are fast by default, structured so search engines can read them, and written so a visitor knows within a few seconds what you do and what to do next. There is no page builder bolted on top and no monthly licence for software you did not choose. When it is finished you get the code, the hosting set up and handed over, and an hour walking through how to change the things you will actually want to change.
What’s included
- Design and build, from a single page upwards
- Mobile-first, tested on real devices
- Search-engine basics done properly
- Fast hosting set up and handed over
- A walkthrough so you can make simple edits yourself
Starting from
£250
for a single-page site — multi-page builds are priced above this
Best for
Small businesses with no site at all, or one that has quietly stopped working.
How it runs
A conversation
A call or an email exchange about what the business does, who you need to reach, and what the site has to achieve. No jargon and no pitch deck.
A fixed price and a page plan
You get the pages listed out, the price, and the date it goes live, in writing, before any work starts.
Build and review
You see the site on a real address while it is being built rather than at the end. Changes along the way are normal and expected.
Launch and walkthrough
The site goes live, the search-engine basics get checked, and I walk you through making simple edits yourself.
Common questions
- How long does a website take?
- A single-page site is usually live within two weeks of the words and photos being ready. A larger multi-page build is typically three to five weeks. Whichever it is, the date is written down before work starts.
- Can I edit it myself afterwards?
- Yes, for the things that change often — text, photos, prices, opening hours. The walkthrough at handover covers exactly that. Structural changes are usually faster to ask me for than to fight with yourself.
- What if I already have a website?
- Then the first job is working out what is worth keeping. Existing words, photos and a domain that already ranks are assets. The platform underneath usually is not. Nothing gets thrown away without asking you first.
