Support & hosting

Someone who picks up when the site goes down.

Websites rot quietly. Updates lapse, backups stop running without telling anybody, a contact form breaks and the enquiries simply stop arriving. Nobody notices for a month, and by then the trail has gone cold.

A support plan makes that somebody's job. Hosting is fast and monitored, updates and backups happen on a schedule, and if the site goes down an alert reaches me rather than waiting for a customer to mention it. Small changes come out of a monthly allowance, and when something is wrong you message one person who already knows how your site is put together. No ticket queue, no account manager, and no long contract — a support plan you have to be locked into is not much of an argument for the support.

Starting from

£40/mo

on a rolling monthly basis, no long tie-in

Best for

Any business whose website matters but who has nobody to look after it.

How it runs

  1. A look at what you have

What the site runs on, where it is hosted, whether the backups are real, and what is already out of date.

  2. Move or stay

Sometimes the hosting moves and often it does not. Either way the domain and the accounts stay in your name.

  3. Monitoring switched on

Uptime checks, backup verification and update scheduling, all running before the first invoice.

  4. A monthly rhythm

Small changes as you need them within the allowance, and a short note each month saying what was done.

Common questions

What counts as a small change?
Text edits, new photos, a price change, a new page built from words you already have, adding a member of staff. Anything larger gets quoted before it starts rather than after.
Do I have to have built the site with you?
No. Taking over an existing site is normal, whatever it was built on. The first month usually involves fixing things nobody knew were broken.
What if I want to stop?
Give a month's notice and the hosting, the domain and the code come with you. Nothing is held hostage.
